AccuMed introduces Peptest to the diagnostic marketplace in Ireland.

Peptest is a simple, effective and low cost test that tells you conclusively that a patient has reflux. By measuring pepsin in saliva samples, this is a clear indicator that a reflex episode has occurred because pepsin is only produced in the stomach. If it is detected in the oesophagus, throat, mouth or lungs it identifies reflux and enables a swift and appropriate treatment plan to be made.

QuantOn Cal, a test system for the quantitative determination of calprotectin in faeces, is now available from AccuMed.

QuantOn Cal consists of a rapid lateral flow test that detects human calprotectin, and a smartphone app that analyses the result of the rapid test quantitatively based on the colour intensity of the control and test lines. Results are automatically emailed to the patient’s doctor and are logged in the Doctor’s Online Portal. The test system is an in-vitro diagnostic device (IVD) intended for self-testing at home, and individual monitoring of treatment efficacy for patients with chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
